Well, thank you for the compliment. I've found that much of the work in political activism sometimes is more about removing things, rather than just putting them together. Specifically, removing the blinders from one's eyes. In the adoption world, that seems to be a harder task than in other arenas, due to the massive propaganda system. But where there is a willingness to learn, and be wrong, there is a way.

Your point about the adoption "pentagon" is really interesting. I think I have to agree, even though I don't belong to the pentagon any more than the triad. The state and the private (profiteering) agents play a deciding role in the biological three-card-monte we call adoption. The baby-distribution system now developing in Haiti is dependent on the US military, politicians, and private adoption orgs in order to carry out their plans. And of course, the general public are the crucial constituency that constantly must be manipulated and pushed to accept whatever crimes are being committed. They not only must accept that status quo, but actively cheer for it, for things to work out for the powerful.

Just like in any other public crime, the bystander faces a choice, whether it is conscious or not: be a perpetrator, or speak out against what is happening and face consequences.

I can't say I've fully come to the latter stage...at least on the internet, where I still remain anonymous.

Anon-

You may view what you do as "just" searches etc, but I know the time and effort that can take, sifting through everything coming in right now for what's really important is no small task.

Also, a side note (that yes, does pertain to the topic at hand-)

I don't consider myself part of any "adoption triad" either, though I'm a Bastard/adult who was adopted.

Rather, I identify myself as positioned (due to circumstances beyond my control) within an "adoption pentagon" constructed of

 parents
 adopted people
 agencies/lawyers/intermediaries/lobbyists/industry/etc
 the State and
 adopters

Mislabeling it a "triad" hides vital information and power structures. It's the State and the various forms of Industry who hold the most power here, with adopters (who drive the market) coming in not far behind.

Bastards and Parents are those that form the edge of the pentagon with the least 'voice'/power/control.

BLC, sure thing. Basically what I've contributed is just a lot of news searches and cutting and pasting. Since I'm not part of the 'adoption triad', I can't put the whole story together the way adoptees can. Thank you for speaking out. It makes such a difference!

Hi Anon Guy, good to see you here.

Thanks for all the work you've been doing as well. Marley has of course, been pointing out your comments on her blog and obviously, some of the links have made their way here into my commentary.

This is a great post. This situation gets more sickening day by day. It seems like the US media is "softening up" the general population in preparation of a gigantic babylift/kidnapping. I hope it doesn't happen.
